Thank you to all our supporters who came out for the Machine Gun Social and Fundraiser at Eagle Guns last night in Concord, NC.  We appreciate the dedication of those who will do "the hard work of freedom" -- people like Larry Pratt, Executive Director of Gun Owners of America and Paul Valone, President of Grass Roots North Carolina -- as well as gun owners who care about Americans' right to keep and bear arms.

During the last week, members of Congress have bargained away the economic stability of America.  What are the consequences of the debt ceiling deal between the Democrats and Republicans in Washington?

For America, it's the loss of a stellar AAA credit rating, and the end of the "American era."

For the American, it's the loss of a job and the promise of skyrocketing inflation and interest rates.

For our children, it's insurmountable debt, socialist-structured government, and the death of the American dream.

As the great statesman Edmund Burke once said, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
 
I was reminded of this quote today after being asked by a constituent, "What's the use?"  This gentleman said that we have elected candidates to Congress who then, upon election, undermine the platform they pledged to protect and promote.  This constituent was especially dismayed with Republicans in the Beltway who appear ready to raise the debt ceiling, cave on spending cuts, and possibly even consent to raise our taxes.
